Shred Day returning 2024

Elwood LSC’s Community Shred Day will not be held this year.

We thank the community for its support of this event and apologise we are unable to stage it this year.

We plan on running Shred Day again in 2024.

The initiative – first held in 2015 – aims to thwart fraudsters wanting to get their hands on personal documents such as financial statements, tax returns, medical records and expired passports.

Bendigo Community Bank Elwood and Shred On Site provided volunteers to run the Community Shred Day fundraiser.

More than 300 people attended last year’s event with four tonnes of confidential documents securely destroyed in the giant shredding trucks.

Paper is pulped for recycling and turned into items such as egg cartons and pizza boxes.

A whopping four tonnes of documents were safely destroyed at the event.

Elwood LSC extends its sincere gratitude to Bendigo Community Bank Elwood, Shred On Site, Port Phillip Council for supporting Shred Day.

Thanks also to Chisholm & Gamon for assisting us in promoting the fundraiser with signage around the Elwood area.

An amazing $14,500 has been raised and around 26 tonnes of personal documents safely destroyed since the first Community Shred Day.

Bendigo Community Bank Elwood has supported the fundraiser since its inception in 2015.
