Membership
Elwood LSC welcomes new and returning members.
The club is involved in a range of activities spanning lifesaving patrols, water safety at numerous triathlons and swim events and lifesaving competition for junior and senior members.
Elwood’s Nippers program provides vital water safety and surf skills for children aged 5-13. We are now accepting membership registrations for both new and returning families for the 2024/25 Nippers season. Further information is available on the Nippers page.
How do I join or renew?
If you are registering for the first time go to http://sls.com.au/join and select whether you have been a member of a life saving club previously. Choose the option to join a Surf Life Saving Club and complete the required information.
To renew your membership you will need to access your SLSA Members Portal account. If you don’t already have one, go to http://members.sls.com.au and select the option to create an account. You will receive an email or SMS to confirm your account. Please follow the instructions to complete the process.
Once you have logged in click on the “Memberships” tab and you will see any clubs that you have previously been a member of. Select the renew option for Elwood. You will then have the opportunity to update your contact details and complete your renewal application.
Full details about how to renew or take out a membership are detailed in the following document.

Membership benefits
All memberships provide free access to club fitness and swim training sessions, held at the clubhouse on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm. Wednesday sessions are held at Prahran Pool during winter.
Members are allowed access when the club is open including during patrols on weekends and public holidays between November and April. The club has shower facilities for club members and lockers which require a BYO padlock. Juniors and qualified senior members can borrow boards during patrol hours with the permission of the patrol captain on duty. All equipment must be signed in and out. All members borrowing boards and taking part in beach swim training must wear a pink hi-vis vest, available for purchase from the club.
Elwood LSC takes part in numerous junior and senior competition events including beach carnivals, inflatable rescue boat racing and pool events. Qualified members are encouraged to take part in these activities to further their lifesaving skills and develop social connections with fellow members.
The club holds regular social events throughout the year and produces a regular newsletter for club members.
